“Dream diary” you ask? Well when I was in middle school, there was this amazing book on animation that I would read over and over and over. I got a lot out of it which has been a part of where I am as an artist today. And part of what I got was something called a dream diary. That’s something of a special sketchbook that artists use to draw what they dream. It was an interesting idea so I adopted it and practice it every now and then.
Here’s a set of sketches that I had a dream about the other night. I decided to go for more realism for these sketches and I really love how they turned out!
a little girl running.
The girl I drew here was actually part of a dream of an old sitcom from the 80s that doesn’t exist. I can still see the dream in my mind’s eye. Someday I plan do a color version of this set either digitally or naturally or both.
Have you ever tried drawing what you dream? You should give it a try one day. It’s fun!
